Green signalling is a grid monitoring service available on some Energy Grids. The signal can be as simple as a sensor in a person’s home which shows when the electricity in the local area is being supplied from low-carbon sources, such as wind or solar. This is important for green balancing: a term used for balancing a grid’s load with green sources and balancing demand with stored “green electrons” in storage from natural resources.
